Stewardship 2025:
Light a Fire!
Our 2025 stewardship campaign, Light a Fire!, invites us to celebrate the spark God has placed in our congregation and to nurture it faithfully. Inspired by Jesus’ words, “You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others” (Matthew 5:14–16), we are reflecting on how God has ignited our mission and how we are called to keep that flame burning.
As we look ahead, we are asking every household to prayerfully consider how they might grow in their financial giving so that our ministries can continue to shine even brighter. By sustaining our staff, maintaining our facilities, and funding vital ministries, your gifts provide the fuel that keeps the fire of our church burning. Together, let us fan the flame and carry the light forward for generations to come.
How We Use Your Gifts
About Your Impact
Your generosity helps make the ministry and mission of Evangelical United Church of Christ possible. Every gift, no matter the size, becomes part of something greater, sustaining the work of our congregation and reaching into the wider Tell City community.
Monetary contributions support the staffing, programs, and facilities that allow our church to be a place of worship, fellowship, and service. They provide the infrastructure and resources that make Sunday worship happen, keep our building open and welcoming, and equip our staff to serve faithfully.
Your gifts also have a direct and tangible impact through our outreach ministries. They make our charitable programs possible, such as our Local Emergencies Fund, which assists neighbors in times of unexpected hardship; our Benevolent Fund medical supply ministry, a long-standing effort providing necessary medical equipment and supplies to those who need them; and Table of Blessings, a free community meal held each Thursday evening in partnership with Catholic Charities.

Our Church’s Wider Mission Basic Support (OCWM)
Evangelical United Church of Christ is a congregation in the United Church of Christ and a portion of gifts help to support the Special Mission Offerings. These gifts sponsor vital ministries that bring hope to people in the U.S. and around the world. Our church has identified four areas where critical human needs exist:
in places lacking health and educational resources and/or where disaster has struck
within systems of injustice which oppress daily life and opportunity
in the lives of church leaders without sufficient resources to live with dignity
in the nurture of youth and congregations just beginning their lives of faith
